How To Tie Braided Fishing Line to Monofilament or Fluorocarbon Leader- Easy and Strong Fishing Knot

Video demonstrates a very easy and strong fishing knot for connecting braided line to your monofilament leader. This fishing knot is very strong and is easy to tie.

The knot is very similar to the Albright, technically the Reverse Albright but with the addition of the Surgeons Loop to close off the braid instead of having the open loop

In the past I had used barrel swivels for my monofilament leaders and ran into problems with the barrel getting hung up in the rods tip and breaking the guide’s ring. This knot when finished has a very low profile and goes through the guides on my Fishing rods very cleanly.

The striped bass and bluefish I target fishing the Fire Island Inlet in New York have put this knot to the test over the past several years and I have not had the knot fail at all.

How to tie the palomar fishing knot

The Palomar Knot is easy to tie and is one of the most popular fishing knots. It is the strongest knot known to hold terminal fishing tackle.

Double about 4″ of line and pass the loop through the eye of fishing hook.

Let the Fishing hook hang loose, and tie an overhand knot in the doubled line.

Pull the loop end of the line far enough to pass it over the hook, swivel or lure.

Pull both the tag end and the standing line until the knot is tightened. Clip off the tag end of the fishing line.
