Posted on Nov 12, 2011 under Fishing Lures | 22 Comments

42 inch 25+ pound fish Catch & Release Striped bass top water Fishing MA Crane Beach Ipswich Essex 5/22/10 not the first fish of the year but the biggest year. Started my spring fishing with some nice striped bass riding the outgoing tide. This big striper Came up and gulped the jumping minnow down on the first cast. What made this fun was I the rod. I used a 3/8oz – 1oz Temple fork salmon pole 8′6″ or TFO rod. This was not as fat as your avg late season fish but at 25p it was fun fight on light tackle and even bent the vmc hooks. What you are experiencing is a very good tool that if handled right a competent can land very large fish and make Fishing for smaller fish that more fun!

How to tie the palomar fishing knot

Posted on Jun 23, 2011 under Fishing Knots | No Comment

The Palomar Knot is easy to tie and is one of the most popular fishing knots. It is the strongest knot known to hold terminal fishing tackle.

Double about 4″ of line and pass the loop through the eye of fishing hook.

Let the fishing hook hang loose, and tie an overhand knot in the doubled line.

Pull the loop end of the line far enough to pass it over the hook, swivel or lure.

Pull both the tag end and the standing line until the knot is tightened. Clip off the tag end of the Fishing line.

Walking Worm Fishing Lure

Posted on Apr 23, 2011 under Fishing Lures | 4 Comments

“Patented Lure Out-fishes Live Bait 3 to 1; Could be Banned.”
- As featured in ‘The Wall Street Journal’ and ‘In-Fisherman’.

Yes, this breakthrough new lure, called the WALKING WORM out-fished live bait 3:1 – and ALL other lures, after it was independently-tested by pro’s in a Florida bass tournament. It works so well, it’s now world-famous and over 10-Million have been sold.

Why is it so effective? Well, its patented-design makes it the only fishing worm to CONSTANTLY CURL – ON ITS OWN, while in the water! Constant movement mimics the live action of a real worm (an absolute favorite food of many fish – especially BASS!).

Constant-movement triggers a genetic strike response in predatory fish, which is why “live bait” is considered “cheating”(and prohibited) – thus the use-of live bait is almost always prohibited in tournament Fishing, where prizes often go up to half a million dollars or more. It is this dynamic – within the world of competitive-fishing, which caused talk of actually banning the Walking Worm from certain fishing contests that involve winning money.

Rest-assured that you will be amazed by your catch-rate if you fish the Walking Worm. Its manufacturer, NGC SPORTS, offers it in a variety of colors and kit-options. To read more about it, or place an order, go to their website at www.NGCsports.com/Worms – or you can call them direct at 1-800-817-5172. Good Fishin’!
