ClearSight Distributed is a distributed system with a next generation application flow analyzer. Using the central Agent Manager, it allows for remote network monitoring, application performance analysis, and troubleshooting for multiple LAN segments that are physically separated from one another.

Drill-down application flow analysis using ClearSight Analyzer's intuitive GUI, application content playback, and a real-time alarm function greatly reduces the time involved in remote network fault detection and troubleshooting.

ClearSight Distributed System Configuration

ClearSight Distributed Agent Manager

Manages multiple ClearSight Distributed system agents. Connects to multiple ClearSight Distributed agents via a console PC and opens each one in a separate Agent Viewer screen. Also performs centralized management of alarms detected by the agents. View screen: Figure 1

Agent Viewer

ClearSight Distributed Agent performs monitoring and analysis of connected network segments. The monitoring and analysis results are displayed by an Agent Viewer on the console PC and are updated on demand.

Available Types of Agents

Agent Software

By installing the ClearSight Distributed agent software on a PC on the network, that PC can be used as a ClearSight Distributed agent. It supports 10/100M half duplex LAN, and can be connected to a HUB or switch span port to easily monitor network traffic.

Hardware Appliance Agent Probe

Available probes include a dedicated agent probe that supports Gigabit Ethernet and full duplex LANs and a dedicated 19-inch-rackmountable agent probe that supports Gigabit Ethernet and 10/100M half/full duplex Ethernet.

Remote Troubleshooting

Using an Intuitive and Easy-to-Use GUI Using the highly regarded ClearSight Analyzer GUI with its colorful and intuitive hyperlink format interface, you can drill down to application servers with problems or related communication flows with a few clicks of the mouse. The Network Manager uses the screen of the console PC to easily and quickly isolate remote network faults.

Application monitoring that recreates content in real-time

ClearSight Distributed Agent monitors application activity in real-time using network data traffic. While detecting application fault events, it is possible, if necessary, to recreate content (VoIP, etc) using the agent manager.

Intelligent Agent

Monitoring and analysis of network traffic is done with the remote agent. This minimizes the management traffic overhead between the manager and probe. It is also possible for the agent to continue independent monitoring regardless of whether it is connected to the manager.

Real-time fault notification with expert alarms
The agent detects malfunctions on the network as alarms. It is possible to set a variety of actions to be carried out upon detection of an alarm, including sending email, pager or SNMP trap, or execution of a Java script, allowing the network administrator to be informed of network faults no matter where he is.
