What is an easy line to tie for a fishing rod?
Posted on Jul 16, 2010 under Fishing Knots | 5 CommentsI have simply been tying double knots, and cutting the leftover line, but the line sometimes slips off…What is an easy and good line to tie for a fishing rod?

if you are using monofilament which is normal fishing line use the clinch knot: http://www.metacafe.com/watch/776349/clinch_knot_how_to_tie_a_clinch_knot/
if you are using braid line which feels more like thread use a palomar knot: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qiDDdW22X9k

Two of the best knots to use for either monofilament, braid, and fluorocarbon lines. Each hold a knot very, very well, and they’re both easy to tie once you get the hang of ‘em.
Palomar knot..

I use the palomar and improved clinch knots as others also recommended. i use fireline, which is a really good brand of fishing line, but expensive ($15 or so). you don’t have to replace it as often as monofilament though and it is very abrasion resistant, so you do get your money’s worth.
I’m kinda a dodo on learning to tie knots (STILL can’t seem to learn a boline) but I learned the improved clinch and palomar knots easy.
