Go to a google search of "Knot Wars" on the "VS channel" Every week they pit two knots against each other to test strength. They also put schematics for all their knots online at their website.

Knot Wars is part of North American Fisherman TV on VS channel. They have all of the episodes, with animated demonstrations, on their website.
Personally, I’ve come to love the palomar knot. I learned to tie it from this show, and it’s very easy to tie.
