I find that fishing gets very exciting once the water temp gets around 50-55. I use soft plastics and have real good luck. I especially like the Wave Worms. You cast to cover, let it sink and slowly raise your rod tip and allow it to sink again. Just keep repeating this until you've retrieved it back to shore/boat. I find the action to be excellent. Most bites occur when your presentation is sinking. I hope this helps.
References :
To catch bass I have found you need a couple things first getting out on the lake is the best way to learn anything about bass fishing. And second the bait called the pig and jig. Work it slow and you will do good.
References :
3 -go with someone that is fairly successful at it and watch and learn-ask questions -most people are willing to help newcomers to the sport
4-go to a tackle shop-the owner will tell you what the hottest bait is right now and where the most catches are being made

water tempeture has a big deal in what kind of lures to use. In warmer water bass are more active and will go after top water lures. Weather has a deal on what colors to use. For example if it is sunny with no clouds you want to use something shiney something with a copper or silver finish. If it is cloudy you want to use something thats not i like to use chartreuse in cloudy weather. Also the clarity of the water can also affect colors as well.
References :
Good luck fishing
