The first knot my Dad taught me. I remember him showing me how to tie my spool of kite string to my kite at the kitchen table. Never forgot it and use it everytime I fish now, along with a few other favorites.

simple yet extraordinary way to tie the hook. love it.
2 weeks ago II went fishing for the first time in my life (im 29) and after the pre-rigged setup gave way and I lost the sinker,hook and about 50m of line, I tried to re-rig it myself.
I dont know any fishing knots so reverted to using my climbing knots and double knots. Monstrous contraption i tell ya. there was 4 double lines on the leaders for the snikers and the hooks cause i kept tying them using figure8 and prusics. very messy.

this hook slips sometimes, the best hook is the trilene hook, it’s like this one but you pass the mono twice in the hole, then turn 5 times, then pass it in the two loops, then pull

Palomar or the tucked version is the way to go. 100% knot strength which you wont get with that knot.

not the best knot …
not the best knot for looped hooks. Not wrong, but certainly not best, you should do the tucked version of it-much more powerful.
