My dad and grandfather are avid fishermen so our big family frequently travels to St. George Island, Florida for a beach and fishing vacation during summer. We rent one of the vacation homes in the island, sometimes the ones with a dock so we have direct access to the bay. St. George Island is surrounded by Apalachicola Bay and the Gulf of Mexico so we have choices of saltwater or freshwater fishing. We usually hire a charter boat for deep sea fishing with half or full-day rates that already include licenses, fishing rods, bait and tackle. There are many fishing charters at St. George Island and its neighboring towns, Apalachicola and Eastpoint. We have been to the Keys several times. Any other options that are inexpensive?
